The entire executive body is run by physically challenged individuals, working together under the visionary leadership of Jyotsna Sonowal, the founding mother. Established in 2016, Prerona Children Home in Dibrugarh, Assam, provides care, protection, and education to orphaned, destitute, and neglected children as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act. With a capacity of 50 children and a dedicated staff of 16, the home focuses on education, sports, cultural activities, and vocational training to ensure holistic development. It operates under the Assam State Child Protection Society and is a safe haven for children in need, fostering hope and a brighter future.
Challenger Handicrafts, an initiative by Prerona Pratibandhi NGO, is dedicated to empowering individuals through vocational training and rehabilitation. The program offers skill development in areas such as Bamboo Art, sewing, cutting, and toy-making, enabling participants to build self-reliance and contribute meaningfully to society. By fostering creativity and independence, Challenger Handicrafts helps break societal barriers and provides a platform for differently-abled individuals to showcase their talents and earn a dignified livelihood.
